Sarma (stuffed cabbage leaves)

Ingredients:

  • Leaves of fresh cabbage or sauerkraut leaves
  • minced beef
  • rice
  • carrot
  • spices
  • cooking oil

Preparation:

The leaves are boiled first so it is easier to wrap them later. Then you put the mixture of minced beef, rice, grated carrot, spices and a little bit of oil onto the leaves and wrap them. Wrapped leaves are then lined up close to each other in a pot, a little water is poured in and they are cooked on low heat. At the end, melt one tablespoon of butter, pour over the wraps and let it just start boiling a little bit. When eating, if you like it, you can sprinkle sour cream on top.
